The guide, and what's coming this week

Welcome! Your photo guide is ready

Hello {{first_name}},

Thank you for joining the Atelier Lumen (example) newsletter. As promised, here is the guide "5 settings to photograph your products with a smartphone".

This week I'll send you four short emails:
- how to find the right light at home
- the background that shows off your work
- editing in three steps
- and, at the end, an introduction to my online course

You can reply to this email at any time: I read every reply.

Light: the setting that changes everything

Hello {{first_name}},

Most poor product photos share the same flaw: light that is too harsh or too weak.

The simplest fix costs nothing: a window, without direct sun, to the side of your object. Add a white sheet of paper on the other side to soften the shadows.

Try it today with one of your pieces and compare it with your usual photo.

Background: simple, clean, consistent

Hello {{first_name}},

A busy background draws the eye away from your product. Three easy options:
- a large sheet of white paper, curved (an "infinity" backdrop)
- a raw wooden board for a warm look
- a plain, ironed piece of fabric

Use the same background across your whole shop: your photos will instantly look more professional.

Editing in three steps

Hello {{first_name}},

No need for complicated software. In your phone's photo app:
1. Crop to centre the product
2. Straighten the horizon
3. Raise the brightness slightly, without touching the saturation

That's it. Taking the photo well still matters most.

Want to go further?

Hello {{first_name}},

If these tips helped and you want to go further, I've created an online course: "Product photos with a smartphone".

It includes 12 short videos, set-up sheets and exercises to do with your own pieces. The course costs £45 and you keep access for life.

No obligation: the newsletter carries on as usual, whether you take the course or not.
