Get your AI key
An API key is a personal code, issued by an AI service (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini…), that lets Yok-Kod use that service on your behalf, on your account.
AI is optional. Every tool works without a key: its engine prepares your document from your answers. A key adds AI help (Pro version) to rephrase, suggest ideas or draft part of your document.
Why your own key?
- Your costs stay under your control. You pay the provider directly, at its own prices, with no mark-up from us, and you set your own limit.
- So does your data. You choose the provider, and its terms apply to your requests.
- Your key stays in your browser. It is only sent at the moment of an AI request, to pass it on to the provider, and is never stored on our servers.
How much does it cost?
You pay as you go, with the provider. For typical use in a tool, the order of magnitude is a few cents; it depends on the model and the length of the texts.
Some providers offer limited free access or trial credits; check their current terms. Either way, set a spending limit in your account with the provider.
Create your key, provider by provider
Open the provider of your choice. If you're new to this, those offering trial access, such as Google Gemini or Groq, are often the quickest to set up.

Staying safe
- One key per use. Create a key just for Yok-Kod: you can delete it without affecting anything else.
- A spending limit. Set a monthly cap with the provider, even a low one.
- Never share it. Not in an email, a chat or a shared document. Nobody at Yok-Kod will ever ask you for it.
- Revoke it if in doubt. If you think it has leaked, delete it on the provider's keys page and create a new one.
- Clear it from Yok-Kod whenever you like. In a tool's AI panel, the “Clear” button removes the selected provider's key from your browser. You can also clear the site's data in your browser settings. Remember to do so on a shared computer.
Frequently asked questions
No. Every Yok-Kod tool works without AI: each tool's engine prepares your document from your answers. A key is only needed if you want AI help (Pro version) to rephrase, suggest ideas or draft a section.
You pay the provider directly, as you go. For typical use in a tool, it usually comes to a few cents, depending on the model and the length of the texts. Some providers offer limited free access or trial credits; check their current terms. Set a spending limit in your account for peace of mind.
Only in your browser, on your device. It is sent to our servers only at the moment of an AI request, to pass it on to the provider, and is never kept there. The “Clear” button in the AI panel removes it from your browser.
The tool shows an error message and keeps working without AI. Check that the provider selected in the list matches your key, that you copied the whole key (no spaces), that your account has credits or a payment method if the provider requires one, and that the key hasn't been deleted. If needed, create a new key.
The one you already use, if you have an account with one of them. Otherwise, to get started, pick a provider that offers trial access and quick key creation, such as Google Gemini or Groq, after checking their current terms. You can switch provider at any time in the “AI provider” list: Yok-Kod keeps one key per provider.
