What is Video & Podcast Studio for?
A channel or podcast that lasts is mostly a matter of consistency and preparation. The tool brings together your editorial line, your publishing rhythm, your episodes from idea to release, their complete sheet (timed outline, hook, title, description, chapters, tags) and the results you record.
The calendar is worked out from your cadence: it shows upcoming slots, those still empty and late episodes. The tool also checks your titles, descriptions and chapters against YouTube's rules, and reminds you to disclose sponsorships clearly.
With the other Yok-Kod tools
- Storyboard: to break a video down shot by shot before filming;
- Content Planner: for the calendar of all your content (articles, newsletter, social media) around your episodes;
- Social Media Manager: to prepare the posts announcing each episode.

The steps, one by one
Start from the demo or a template
🎁 Demo button: an interview podcast with 7 episodes at every stage loads, including a late episode, an empty slot and an incompletely disclosed sponsorship so you can see the tool react. Pro members get 8 templates (📋 Templates: interviews, YouTube tutorials, Shorts, solo podcast, LinkedIn video, brand series, explainers, podcast with clips). Names are fictional and marked “(example)”. No result is invented. You can always go back with ↶.
Set up your channel
📺 Channel tab: name, format, topic, audience, promise, cadence, publishing days and time, platforms, default call to action and goals.
Add your episodes and move them forward
+ Episode creates a sheet. Move it from stage to stage in the 🗂️ Pipeline by dragging the card (or with ⇄ on mobile).
Fill the calendar
In 📅 Calendar, schedule an episode on each slot, or click 🪄 Fill empty slots to place undated episodes there, the most advanced first.
Publish, then record your results
A week after release, enter views, listens or watch hours in 📈 Results. Follow the score's recommendations, then export your plan (with a watermark in the discovery version, without it in Pro).
Your channel and cadence
| Cadence | Slots worked out |
|---|---|
| Every day | Every day, at the chosen time. |
| 3 times or twice a week | The first 3 or 2 ticked days of the week (Monday first). |
| Every week | The first ticked day. |
| Every 2 weeks | The first ticked day, every other week from the start date. |
| Once a month | The first ticked day of each month (the first Wednesday, for example). |
The start date stops slots before your launch from counting as “missed”. The horizon (4 to 26 weeks) sets how far ahead the calendar looks. All dates stay in your local time, with no one-day shift.
The 6-stage pipeline
💡 Idea → 🔍 Research → 📝 Script → 🎬 Recording → ✂️ Editing → ✅ Published. Each card shows the number, series, guest, date and alerts (⏰ late, ⚠️ at risk, 🎤 guest to confirm, 📣 sponsorship not fully disclosed…). Moving an episode to “Published” with no date, or a future date, sets today's date. The ☰ List view sorts by column; filters (stage, series, owner, alert) and search (/ key) work in both views.
The episode sheet
- Details: number, stage, planned length, release and recording dates, series, owner. “Next free slot” schedules it in one click.
- Guest: name, role, contact, “confirmed” box and questions, one per line.
- Hook for the first 30 seconds: the tool estimates how long it takes to say (150 words per minute, so about 75 words; around ten for a Short).
- Timed outline: parts with their length, each start time and the total compared with the planned length. “Chapters from the outline” creates the timestamped chapters.
- Title, description, chapters, tags with counters and an approximate preview in results.
- Call to action and sponsorship, results (once the date has passed) and notes.
Platform rules
| Item | Rule checked |
|---|---|
| Title | 100 characters maximum; roughly the first 60 to 70 are visible in search results. |
| Description | 5,000 characters maximum; only the first lines show before “more”. |
| Tags | 500 characters in total (commas included). They matter little for search. |
| Chapters | First chapter at 0:00, at least 3 chapters, at least 10 seconds each, in order. |
| Hashtags | Beyond 60, YouTube ignores them all. |
| Shorts | 3 minutes maximum. |
Disclosed sponsorship
If an episode is sponsored or contains paid promotion, tick the box in its sheet. It must be disclosed out loud, in writing in the description (“Ad”, “Paid partnership”…) and, on YouTube, with the “Includes paid promotion” box. The “Insert the disclosure” button adds the sentence set in the Channel tab at the top of the description. As long as one of the three is missing, the score flags it as a priority.
The calendar
- Framed days are your slots: 📌 planned, ⚠️ at risk (release very soon for an episode not yet recorded), ⏰ late, ◻ empty, ✖ missed, ✅ published.
- Drag an episode from one day to another, or from the “To schedule” list. The + button of an empty slot offers your undated episodes.
- An episode released between two slots covers the previous slot: publishing a day late does not count as a missed slot.
- Late episodes offer “Published” or “Reschedule” to the next free slot.
The idea bank
Score each idea from 1 to 5 on four criteria: audience interest (35%), discovery potential (25%), ease of production (20%) and fit with your line (20%). The score out of 100 ranks your ideas; “Make it an episode” creates the sheet and keeps the link between the two.
Results and goals
Goals (subscribers and deadline, views or listens per episode, watch hours) are reference points you set. Results are only the figures you enter: channel readings (subscribers, views, hours) and results per episode. No average figure or “benchmark” is invented. With a deadline, the tool compares your latest reading with a steady pace from the start date.
The 5-axis score
| Axis | What is checked |
|---|---|
| Consistency | Days consistent with the cadence, late or at-risk episodes, empty slots over 4 weeks, missed slots, episodes ahead |
| Episode preparation | Timed outline, gap with the planned length, confirmed guests, questions, recording date, owner, idea reserve, example content left |
| Titles and descriptions | Title length, duplicates, descriptions of 200 characters or more, useful start of the description, tags, hashtags |
| Hook and structure | Hook written and short enough, valid chapters, call to action, disclosed sponsorships, Shorts length |
| Goal tracking | Numeric goals, deadline, results entered, recent reading, pace towards the goal |
The discovery version shows the score and 3 recommendations; Pro shows them all, with the detail of every check.
Exports
Markdown, the editorial plan (HTML and PDF) and the episode sheet to copy also work in the discovery version, with a “Discovery version · Made with Yok-Kod · yok-kod.com” line at the end (and at the bottom of each printed page); Pro removes it. The calendar, CSV and JSON are for Pro members.
- 📅 .ics calendar (Pro): every release at its local time and every recording day, for Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar.
- 📊 CSV (Pro): every episode, its sheet and its results, for a spreadsheet.
- 📝 Markdown and 🌐 editorial plan as HTML: calendar, episodes by stage, full sheets, ideas and goals. 🖨️ PDF opens this plan ready to print (“Save as PDF”).
- 📋 Copy the sheet (in an episode's sheet): the full sheet in Markdown, or the ready-to-publish description with chapters, call to action and sponsorship disclosure.
- ⬇ JSON (Pro): the complete backup of a project, restored with ⬆ Restore.
The 📄 Plan tab shows the editorial plan preview in every version.
AI (optional, Pro)
With your own key (Agnes, OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, Groq, Gemini…), the assistant suggests 6 episode ideas (which you then score), and from an episode's sheet: 5 titles and a draft description, guest questions and chapter titles at your timed outline's timings. It is instructed not to invent anything: no figures, no facts about your guests, no misleading promises. Your key stays in your browser.

Where is my data?
Your projects are saved in your browser, automatically (Ctrl+S forces a save, Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y undo and redo). The server receives the project only while computing the score, the preview or an export, and does not keep it. The discovery version keeps 1 project; Pro keeps 30.
Common problems
- The calendar shows no slot.
- Check the cadence, the ticked days and the start date in the Channel tab: no slot is worked out before that date.
- A slot stays “empty” although an episode is planned that day.
- If two episodes fall between the same two slots, only the first covers the slot. Move the other to the next slot.
- My chapters are rejected.
- Start with “0:00”, write at least 3 lines, in order, at least 10 seconds apart, and check the last one starts before the planned end.
- I can't copy the sheet.
- The copyable sheet is part of the Pro exports. If your browser blocks the clipboard, a window shows the text to copy by hand.
- “Browser storage is full”.
- Delete an old project after backing it up as JSON (Pro).
