What is Freelance Proposal Generator for?
A good business proposal doesn't start with "who I am" but with what you understood of your prospect's needs. Only then come what you offer, your method, your price and how to get started.
Freelance Proposal Generator lays all of this out in the right order: context, goals, deliverables, what isn't included, method, timeline, itemised pricing, package options, references, commitments, FAQ, terms, next steps and a sign-off block. A conversion score and recommendations tell you what's missing before you send it.

The steps, one by one
Start from a template or from scratch
In Pro, the 📄 Templates tab offers 12 trades. One click fills in the context, goals, deliverables, method, commitments, FAQ and price lines for your trade.
Then replace everything in [brackets] with your prospect's details.
Introduce yourself and your prospect
Section 1: your name, your speciality, your tagline, your contact details and your company number (e.g. SIRET in France, BCE in Belgium). Section 2: the company, the contact person and their role.
Describe the project
The context (what you understood from your conversation), the goals, the deliverables, what isn't included, the method and the timeline. One line per item in the lists.
Build your price
In the 💰 Pricing tab, add your lines (or "📋 Load standard"). Choose the VAT, an optional discount, the payment terms and due date, and how long the offer is valid.
Check, sign and send
Look at the 📊 Analysis tab, fix what is flagged, open the 👁️ Preview, sign in your area, then export to PDF. The "Cover email" export gives you the message to send with it.
Prices and packages
- Price lines: each line can be a deliverable, a phase or an item. 3 to 8 lines is ideal. Totals excluding VAT, VAT and totals including VAT are calculated automatically.
- VAT: 20% (France), 21% (Belgium), 8.1% (Switzerland), 17% (Luxembourg), or 0% under a small-business exemption (the "VAT not applicable" wording for your country is added) or reverse charge for a business client in another EU country.
- Packages (Essential, Pro, Premium, or just 2): in the 📦 Options & Packages tab, give each one a price, a short description and its content. By default, the recommended package uses the itemised price from the Pricing tab.
Score and analysis
The score out of 100 is the average of 5 axes: clarity (needs, goals, deliverables), perceived value (method, proof, hook, packages), pricing structure, trust (commitments, FAQ, contact details) and call to action (CTA, next steps, validity, signature). The 📊 Analysis tab lists exactly what to complete: packages without a price, forgotten items in brackets, a discount that's too large, an expired date…
The sign-off block (Pro)
If the option is ticked (section 7), the proposal ends with two signature areas. In the preview, sign your area with the mouse or your finger, enter the place, and your signature appears on the exports. Your client signs on their side, with the words "Approved" (or "Bon pour accord" in French), on the PDF or through an e-signature service.

AI (optional) (Pro)
10 quick actions: write the context, detail the deliverables, suggest a methodology or commitments (the text can replace the field directly), plus value arguments, objection handling, call to action, proposal review, pricing strategy and cover email. The chat knows your project and your prices.
- Open the ✨ AI tab and choose your provider: Agnes, OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), Mistral, Groq, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible service.
- Create an API key with that provider (several offer free access, such as Agnes, Groq or Gemini).
- Paste your key, click "🔌 Test connection" then "💾 Save".
Exports
Documents are open to everyone; in the discovery version they carry a “Discovery version · Made with Yok-Kod” watermark (at the end of the document, at the bottom of each printed page and as the last line of text files). Pro removes it. The price lines CSV, the JSON and the full backup are for Pro.
- PDF (through your browser's print dialog), Word, HTML, Markdown and plain text: the full proposal, with your signature if you signed.
- CSV of the price lines (Excel, Sheets; Pro), summary sheet with the follow-ups to plan, cover email, pre-send checklist.
- Proposal JSON and full backup (Pro), a ZIP with every document (plus the CSV and JSON with Pro).

Where is my data stored?
Your proposals and your signature are saved in your browser, not on our servers. Our servers lay out the proposal and calculate the score without keeping anything. The "🕓 History" button keeps the last 20 versions of each proposal.

Common issues
- Why does a package show "[price to be confirmed]"?
- Enter its price in the 📦 Options & Packages tab. Only the recommended package automatically uses the total from the Pricing tab.
- Why does the analysis say there are still items in brackets?
- The templates contain placeholders such as
[your interface]: replace them with your prospect's details. - Why can't I see the signature area?
- Tick "Include a sign-off block" (section 7), then open the preview and scroll to the bottom of the proposal.
- Why does the AI say "invalid key"?
- Check that the selected provider matches your key, then test it again. Free keys are limited to a few requests per minute.
- Why can't I find my proposal any more?
- Make sure you're using the same computer, the same browser and the same account.
